Europe's largest amateur golf tournament, The Matchplay Championship has just got even better. The Regional Finals and the Grand Final at the Marriott Taba Heights Beach Resort in Egypt was broadcast on Sky Sports in a dedicated two hour show profiling the event, competitors and sponsors on 22nd and 23rd June 2009.

The 2009/10 event will enjoy the same Sky Sports coverage. Due to the unprecedented interest we’ve had to extend the deadline for entries until 7th July. How would you feel walking up the 18th with the Sky Sports cameras on you? Enter now and find out!

The Matchplay Championship

There are two Matchplay events - MEN'S PAIRS or MIXED PAIRS and entry costs just £40 per pair.

You will also receive a GreenFree 2 for 1 voucher that entitles you to play your matches for half price at over 800 challenging courses throughout the UK & Ireland.

Pairs are drawn against others from their region and designated to play at home or away. Players are notified and given a date by which they must play that round and then inform the organiser of the result.
After the knockout stages and regional finals, the 32 winners go on to play in the Grand Final at the fabulous 5 star Marriott Taba Heights Resort in Egypt.
